Flatnews

I plan to clean up and release Flatnews, the database-less blog platform that powers the GreenCloud blog and the news box on the Quote Skateboards website. Flatnews will be open source, and free to download from web.blacbox.co.uk when it’s released. For more frequent updates, follow me on twitter.

SingleNote3

SN3 is now released for public use with the following issues still needing to be fixed…

IE isn’t supported yet. You must use firefox/safari/chrome/opera to use SN3.
Account creation and other links don’t work in SN3. You can still create an account using SN classic at http://sn.blacbox.co.uk/classic/accountcreate.html

That’s all for now.

SingleNote3

SingleNote3 has been announced, and is currently in development. Here’s a list of what you can expect with this next release:

Faster Loading Times
Thanks to the SN API and AJAX, it’s now faster than ever to access and edit your note, allowing you to jot down things while they’re still fresh in your mind.

Embeddable Notes
We’re finally allowing users to display their notes on web pages, blogs, social networking sites, etc, with the new embed API. Think of it as twitter without a character limit!

Plugins
This is the biggest enhancement to come to SN since it’s introduction. SN Plugins can now be written in plain HTML and Javascript, with additional functions allowing direct access to the SN user interface. This will allow for developers to create even richer SN experiences, drawing straight from the SN core itself.

That’s it for now, but more features are still yet to be announced, so check back often, or become a fan of SN on facebook for more frequent updates.

Redesign

Well, blacbox software has undergone a fresh redesign! I’m still ironing out the creases, because of the DNS change every blacbox link is broken, so I’m currently fixing that, as well as the broken logo, but fear not! Give me three hours and all will be well.

New Projects

Just a heads up that I’m working on “SkateFlix”, a new skate-based photo hosting site. More news as it develops

Blacbox is powered by Tumblr and uses the Spotlight theme by Charlie Wilson.
